Raisin Boards

Recycled plastic board pieces that have small holes are stuffed with raisins or other treats.  Apes must use browse as tools in order to get treats out.

Supplies (makes 10 boards)-

  • 1-  2”x 4” of recycled plastic lumber- 5 feet in length

  • Drill & ¼” drill bit

Instructions:

Have the recycled plastic lumber cut into 6” length blocks.  For a total of ten blocks.  Sometimes recycled plastic lumber scraps or end pieces are donated by local hardware stores.

Drill a number of various holes in either side of the block.  DO NOT drill completely through the block!  -Only drill halfway.   It is VERY easy for the apes to get treats out if hole goes completely through the block.  If you must drill all the way through (for cleanliness)- use a 1/8” drill bit for a smaller hole.

To Use:

Stuff holes with raisins or other treats.  Using a chop stick to push treats in hole works the best.

Give ape entire block and provide with browse.
